Adjaye's Denver museum at centre of legal row

Less than six months after opening, Adjaye/Associates' Museum of Contemporary Art in Denver (MCA) is at the centre of a legal battle.

Subcontractors who worked for Minneapolis-based contractor M A Mortenson on the £16 million scheme are suing the firm for $140,000 (£70,000) in unpaid work.

An MCA spokesman said: ‘The issues are between the general contractor and the subcontractor, and we expect that as the project is finalised, they will resolve any outstanding payments that might remain.

‘A construction project of this size can be a challenge, but we feel that it has been a success,’ the spokesman added.
