A slippery slope...

Pleased as Astragal is to see the Electric Works in Sheffield sticking up a digit at the new spirit of austerity, maybe a ‘custom-made helter skelter for workers’ is a bit 2007?

The new office space, designed by Dive Architects, opens next month and is hoping to attract small digital and media businesses.

Hopefully, its new inhabitants will be hip enough to see the funny side of any friction burns - an associated hazard at another helter skelter in the atrium of Evelina Children’s Hospital in Southwark, London.

The Evelina slide is apparently back up and running, but Astragal wonders whether already twitchy bosses will welcome the lingering threat of friction-related law suits – perhaps Electric Works would be better selling the slide as a quick way of getting fired workers out of the door.
