3DReid wins planning for vast East London waterside scheme

3DReid has won the green light for its huge 248,000m2, 2,600 home Minoco Wharf mixed-use development in the heart of East London’s Royal Docks.

Awarded outline planning consent by Newham Council and the London Thames Gateway Development Corporation, the waterside scheme falls within the Greater London Authority’s City East Initiative and the London Plan close to Silvertown Quays.

The project has been drawn up for developer Clearstorm – a subsidiary of Ballymore – and centres around ‘the first new lock and marina to be constructed on the Thames for 50 years'.

There are also plans for new shops, restaurants, cafés, offices, workshops, an indoor sports hall, a creche, a health centre and a yacht club.

Work is expected to start on site within 12 months.
