Free trial: AJ Buildings Library

To mark the launch of the AJ Buildings Library, the AJ is offering every architect a free trial of the new paid-for digital service.

The AJ Buildings Library contains hundreds of exemplar projects from British architecture, including every AJ building study from the last 10 years plus hundreds of iconic projects from throughout the 20th century.

Each project featured in the Library has full project data and comprehensive architectural photographs and drawings.

Christine Murray, AJ editor, said: ‘It is wonderful to be able to show architects the Buildings Library, which will help the profession work more efficiently and provide access to never-seen-before material.

‘Over the past year, a rotating team of 20 architecture students and graduates have spent 3,000 hours uploading material into the AJ Buildings Library; 15,000 images have been processed as part of the project.

‘The Library will continue to grow: a dedicated Buildings Library Editor will request and publish dozens of new projects every month, as well as pulling classic schemes from the AJ archives.’

Graham Morrison, director of Allies and Morrison, said: ‘It’s the kind of thing that might get used five or six times a day. We regularly send people to the RIBA Library to get information on old projects.’

Architects should contact tom.ravenscroft@emap.com for a free trial log-in for the AJ Buildings Library.
