Where is the Arts Tower? Where is the neat mordernism?
When I said good, I refered to a few details. Is it bad? It depends on how you interpret my comments.
The Missoni hotel looks good. It will look better with less tricks on the side wall and a more consistant language. I found the intriguing deails on every single wall somehow comprimise its power, or essense.

He has always been my role model !
I didn't believe when he said he would give up architecture for art, as I bet he knew what his art was. I heard about this from a RMJM guy a few weeks before this new release and I kept it to myself. I must say I was a bit surprised he chose RMJM but now I think it makes sense cos this is a good firm that has plenty of work and need a star for some biddings. I wish the collabration work out but why should we concern about Alsop anyway?
This is a building that only looks good on one or two elevations but the overall feel is immature, which is a common problem these days when designers lose their concentration on the big picture. There are too many unnecessary tricks that comprimise its simplicity and lose the big picture. However I think it is still better than many others.
Its design is pretty average, can be designed by anyone and can be built anywhere. I'd say an opportunity has been wasted, for whatever reason.
I hope Foster and the team contribute a real "sustainable" and affoardble solution this time. 2.4 sqkm glass roof? how to justify it?

It looks dull, fussy, unnecessary and dated. The new generation of commercial developement should be clear, inspiring and efficient, especially in this credit crunch situation. Can me have something else rather than a badly wrapped glass box???
RR is good, but should do better on this site. Tend to agree with Charles to soem extent.
