Zaha Hadid Architects

Zaha Hadid Architects's cheme for a new science centre in Germany went on site last month. The £20 million building in Wolfsburg, between Hamburg and Berlin, is due to be completed in early 2003. The concrete structure is raised on large cones to prevent the building obscuring views of key streets that bisect the city.

The practice won a competition to design the building in January 2000. The engineer is Adams Kara Taylor.
