Zaha: a cut above


Astragal is grateful to his opposite number on New York's The Architect's Newspaper for some sparkling repartee at a dinner during the Venice Biennale. Guests included Zaha Hadid and Guggenheim director Thomas Krens, who wants to build a Zaha-designed outpost in Taiwan. Provoked by 'an off-colour remark' from Krens, Zaha apparently announced: 'I'm going to cut off your balls and feed them to you.' That's how to make your clients toe the line.
