The AJ's campaign to save the 'Country House Clause' continues, with readers pressing MPs to sign our Early Day Motion.

Barry Sheerman MP has tabled the motion, with supporters including MPs Sir Sydney Chapman and Christine Russell.

Use our standard letter to send to your MP, or visit our website at www. ajplus. co. uk for a downloadable version.

The EDM calls on planning minister Keith Hill to rethink the government's intention to drop clause 3.21 of PPG 7, which threatens to stop the building of innovative new country houses.

The more politicians sign the EDM, the greater its impact will be on the policy-makers.

The AJ campaign to save the clause, launched in May, has wide-ranging support across the profession. We have already sent a letter to the planning minister, containing 300-plus signatures.
