Women in Sustainable Architecture: Siân Moxon

Associate at Jestico + Whiles

Siân Moxon is an associate at Jestico + Whiles where, alongside her role as a lead architect, she also heads up the sustainability team. She works to promote sustainable design and aims to minimise the environmental impact of the practice’s activities.

Moxon has worked on a number of projects at Jestico + Whiles including conservation, affordable and private homes, student housing and schools. Her recent work ranges from a foyer for vulnerable young people in Barking to a restaurant interior for the Royal Albert Hall. She also lectures on the subject of environmental design.

Her book on the subject of sustainable design, titledSustainability in Interior Design, was published in February 2012. It highlights the need for designers to adapt the way they work and relearn lessons that have been lost in order to create sustainable designs.
