Window space

Awarm welcome to an initiative by the Building Centre in London's Store Street. To be launched today by Will Alsop, 'The Window Galleries'will be open to all from tomorrow, 10am to 5pm daily.

Exhibitions about architecture and the arts will take place in this most public of the Building Centre's spaces, and will give more scope to the Building Centre Trust, under the guiding hand of director Andrew Scoones, to mount more ambitious shows.

Much of the ground-floor space at the centre has been redesigned by Block Architecture; it all looks as though vitaminisation is taking place under Building Centre chairman Michael Rose, whose other commitments include sterling work on the British Architectural Library Trust.
