WIND SHELTER, BLACKPOOL

METALWORKS - WIND SHELTER

McChesney Architects

In 2002 Ian McChesney, one of the AJ/Corus 40 Under 40 architects, won an open competition for a series of swivelling wind shelters for Blackpool's south shore promenade. The project was a collaboration between McChesney Architects, Atelier One, Blackpool Borough Council Technical Services and Mtech.

Isabel Allen and Matthew Teague talk to Ian McChesney and Atelier One's Aran Chadwick about the shelter's design and fabrication.
