WILL ALLIES AND MORRISON BE TELLING IT STRAIGHT?

LETTERS

In view of Graham Morrison's well-publicised views on icons as being frequently 'meaningless or pompous gestures' and his emphasis on the 'tradition of normative buildings', it will be interesting to see what he does with Zaha Hadid's strenuously iconic Architecture Foundation design now that his firm Allies and Morrison is to oversee the completion of it (AJ 26.01.06).

For those of us who find all the jarring diagonals of Hadid's proposal self indulgent and contrary to the pleasure and comfort of the users, we can only hope he will straighten the bloody thing out.
