Waiting game

Bad news for those anxiously awaiting a decision on the competition to design the World Trade Center memorial. As yet, the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation has not managed to whittle the entries down to the last dozen or so, at which point the Libeskinds will join the judging process. You can understand the delays - the competition attracted more than 5,000 entries (reputed to be a world record) from countries as diverse as Sweden and Ethiopia, as well as 'several' high-profile British practices and all 50 US states. But as if that doesn't make matters difficult enough, every entry is being tested for anthrax.
