Visual charm, delight and traces of time

letters

Congratulations on producing an AJ with such visual charm (3.4.03): the building study of Florian Beigel + Architecture Research Unit; the cover - a delight; while the introductory two photographs of 'Time travellers', with the two following smaller photographs, collectively damn near explain the entire theory.

The crowded emptiness of masterplans, from Oxford to York via the Lea Valley and 'Traffic in towns', provided ingenious, wellmeaning, mind-numbing exercises that ignored the fourth dimension: time.

The constructive generosity of Beigel + ARU suggests they might well alert themselves to strategies of change, which might include mobile homes, nomads and the husbandry of livestock.

Just a thought.
