'Ugly'power station loathed by locals

letters

Battersea Power Station is as ugly as sin, and should be knocked down. It's crude, it bears no relationship to its surroundings, and it's (thankfully) on the point of collapse. Ignore what the bow-tie brigade tell you - the residents of Battersea don't care one way or the other.

We have the chance to create a new riverside - and if Britain's architects cannot come up with something glorious for this benighted corner of London, it's time to pack up and go home.

Simon Legg, Battersea, London
