Twitching the curtains

The Register's Lewis Page obviously trained as an engineer – or at least in close proximity to the local architecture school. His report on the solar-harvesting curtains devised by Sheila Kennedy and her partner Frano Violich starts: 'Heavens be praised - the energy security/climate/fuel-price crisis has been solved by an MIT professor. Remarkably, not a professor of engineering or science either - but an architecture prof...By now, many Reg readers' hackles will be rising at the words 'energy', 'harvesting' and 'architect'' Lewis goes on to crack the numbers and in so doing comprehensively demolishes the Kennedy-Violich case. I'll leave you to find out what he means by ' exhibits no grasp of technology. Or anyway, no technology beyond the level of the USB wine tap.'
