Tight fit

Maverick architect Cezary Bednarski is on a roll, with planning permission finally coming through for a house in Gloucester Road, London W8. He was successful at appeal because the site is so 'hidden' but this will create some logistic difficulties for construction. All materials will have to pass through a door 85cm wide and 2m high, and be taken along a private, shared corridor. But if Bednarski feels this is cramping his style, he is also active on a larger stage, building housing for 150 in Zanzibar, where he is setting up an office, and delivering a lecture in Dar-esSalaam.
