Will Alsop will be joining ex-Formula 1 driver Martin Brundle and human-rights campaigner Shami Chakrabati at the University of East Anglia to pick up an honorary degree this summer. As well as housing Norman Foster's Sainsbury Centre and Denys Lasdun's iconically Brutalist campus, the university is the UK's academic centre for creative writing.

Alsop, to judge from his sadly missed AJ columns, clearly fancies himself as something of a wordsmith, and is sure to drop in a course application form while on campus.
