THE SCHOOL THAT TIME FORGOT?
Not having been a student of architecture for quite a substantial period of time, I could not, in all conscience, enrol with new architecture student site Archistudents (www. archi-students.org). Naturally, I tried.
Oddly enough, the Bartlett, where I had spent a number of happy student years, wasn't on the dropdown list of schools. Enraged at this lacuna, I felt justified in the half-truths I had already entered on the form.
Now I am waiting for the bite.
Nobody pumps dosh into as elaborate a site as this without something in return.
I may be over-cynical.
The sponsor is Jean-Michel Wilmotte, chairman of the Wilmotte Foundation. A nice, but serious-looking, bloke in a brown suit. Though ginger haired he wears it fashionably floppy. You can see him at www. archistudents. org/pagehp? i tem=10&subitem=357.
Still on my borrowed Mac, and having just watched four hours' work slide down the drain, I have come across some help for Mac extremists forced in the office to convert to The Evil Empire's notion of an operating system. Take a look at http: //cnet. com.au/desktops/pcs/0,390 29439,40058861,00. htm It is a long url but no pain, no gain as Steve 'Ayotollah' Jobs possibly once said.
