Frederick Gibberd's Terminal 2 building at Heathrow is facing demolition to make way for a £1.5 billion facility capable of handling up to 30 million passengers in time for the 2012 London Olympics.

Construction could start on the new terminal, known as Heathrow East, in 2009.
