SUSTAINABLE STEEL

Steel Focus

One of the major events in the steel industry's calendar, the International Conference on Steel In Green Building Construction, takes place in Orlando, Florida, March 18-21 1998. Steel industry professionals from across the world, architects, engineers, designers and academics will meet to build knowledge and share ideas on how best to expand steel's role as the material of choice for the green building market.

Highlights at the conference include forums on evaluating thermal performance and the environmental impacts of steel, an introduction to residential steel framing systems and a tour of Orlando Steel Homes, as well as a discussion of the design parameters and solutions for sustainable construction designs for the 2000 Olympics in Sydney.

Speakers will cover the principles of environmentally responsible steel construction, state-of-the-art design and engineering and the future market potential for green building. For information on the conference contact Gregory Thomas, conference manager, on 00 1 202 347 8200.
