STUDENT SHOWCASE

Calvin Kwok's School of Sensation was a final-year project for his Part I at Oxford Brookes University. On a site along the congestion-charging zone in Aldgate East, London, the School of Sensation leisure park is about the relationship between perception and space. The building is transmitting a signal, and people are receiving it.Exposing this sensation allows people to experience the site in specific aspects of senses. The lawn is like a skin surface for relaxing and receiving signals, while services informing sensation are provided underneath.Kwok's tutors were Reenie Elliot and Jonathan Tuckey.

Student Showcase is sponsored by Students'Union, a website set up by Union in association with The Architects'Journal at www. students-union. net.To submit work for publication in Student Showcase, email a publication quality image to ajstudentshowcase@emap. com
