Strut your stuff

Anybody seeking immortality on a major piece of London's infrastructure should grab a once-in-a-lifetime bargain - putting their name on the Norman Foster/Anthony Caro millennium bridge. The fund-raiser, seeking to match the£7.5 million Millennium Commission grant, plans to attract two major donors by offering to include their names on the base of Anthony Caro's two sculptures. Smaller donors, known as 'patrons', will get their names on the struts, of which there are 300. So, allowing for say a million and a half for the big prizes, it seems you could get your name on a strut for £20,000. A snip.
