Street life

astragal

Teresa Gorman, the outspoken former Tory MP who in 1995 was fined £3,000 for turning a 16th-century Essex farmhouse into a 'tasteless pastiche', is at it again, this time at her London home. Westminster council has taken the Gormans to court for failing to apply for planning permission before installing uPVC-framed window panes in their Grade II*-listed home. One wonders how the Gormans could have imagined they would get away with such an affront to the sensibilities of their neighbours - Jonathan Aitken lives in the same street.
