Staged event

astragal

The illusionist David Blaine isn't the only one to have made headlines in the Tower Bridge area. Last week saw the start of construction on the Unicorn Theatre, next to London's City Hall, designed by Keith Williams. A champagne reception helped things along, with Unicorn chairman Ron Spinney (also chairman of developer Hammerson) making a plea for the final £2 million to get the project completed.

Celebrities attending included former Likely Lad Rodney Bewes, Sir John Mortimer, Jeremy Paxman, Gerald Scarfe and Tom Stoppard. Luvvie heaven!
