Snap! It's a polaroid

The great thing about Polaroid instant prints used to be that you could have your snaps now. Or at least after a minute of waving smelly rectangles of sticky paper about in the air.

Then came digital and then, recently, the end of Polaroid film . What's poor Polaroid to do? The boffins get into this big huddle and out comes a great new idea.

Instant prints!

This time you take a digital photo - either phone or camera will do - press a button on that thing in your pocket and soon, out comes a 2in x 3in colour print. It's best to take the thing out of your pocket first. The thing is a Polaroid ZINK printer . Officially it's out in May, so make that June or July, at less than a hundred quid and, as aforesaid, pocketable. Connections to your image-taking device are wireless Bluetooth or cable USB2.

The branding is Polaroid but the technology is owned by ZINK Zero Ink which makes this special paper embedded with amorphochromatic dye crystals which respond to heat. So taking it out of your pocket is indeed a good idea.
