Smarty pants

Architects are the latest (willing) victims of The Independent's 'how not to dress' feature in its Friday Review.

Alasdair Farish of Cazenove Architects and Jonathan Dransfield of Dransfield Owens De Silva were subjected to restyling by James Sherwood and criticism by Peter York. Farish was described as 'too cute for client meetings' and given a haircut that highlighted his 'Bambi side'. But he satisfied his desire for 'something pimpish in the shoe department'with a pair of white woven lace-ups.Of Dransfield, in denim, they said 'he doesn't look remotely architectural' and 'denim isn't going to win Jonathan the next Swiss Re contract'. So now we know the secret of Norman's success.
