In pictures: all the action from the AJ Small Projects' speed crit

An intriguing behind-the-scenes peek at the two minute speed crits by the 24 AJ Small Projects 2013 finalists during yesterday’s judging

Following the crit Laura Dewe Mathews’ £245,000 urban infill home in, Hackney London won the 2013 AJ Small Projects Award.

She was handed her £1,500 prize at a packed event at the NLA last night (30 January).

Meanwhile the AJ Small Projects Sustainability Prize was awarded to Kilburn Nightingale Architects for its £37,145 visitor centre in the Ruwenzori Mountains of Uganda.

Studio Myerscough was commended for its £90,000 pop up gallery and events space in Greenwich which was built to welcome visitors to Olympic equestrian events.

A commendation went to Scottish practice Gras for its £2,800 ‘Transient Gallery’ pavilion for the Venice architecture biennale made from polystyrene.
