Simon Allford co-founded Allford Hall Monaghan Morris (AHMM) in 1989. AHMM is an award-winning practice that has designed a broad range of buildings and is also involved in masterplanning. Over the last 15 years, the office has grown from four to 60 people, with budgets ranging from £2 million to over £50 million. Allford is visiting professor at The Bartlett, UCL, and honorary treasurer of the Architectural Association Council.

He is chairman of RIBA Premises Committee and RIBA vice president of education. He is also an advisor to the RIBA's President's Medals Student Awards and the Policy and Strategy Groups. Allford is a member of CABE's Design Review Committee and has chaired and judged numerous international awards and competitions.
