Custom-made architectural cladding specialist Trent Concrete has extended the role of Sika self-compacting concrete (SCC), from its use in the grey concrete backing of its precast architectural panels to the production of reconstructed stone-faced cladding and architectural frame structure units. The decision to use the specially designed mix in reconstructed-stone panel manufacture followed good results over a two-year period, during which Trent Concrete switched a large proportion of its grey concrete production from conventional vibrating methods of compaction to Sika SCC.
