Back to Docklands for the National Drywall Awards, held in Cabot Hall at Canary Wharf. Conversation round the lunch table turned to the dreaded subject of the shadow gap. Terry Trickett, chairman of the awards judging panel, is as keen on them as any good architect, but wondered why they are so often designed in circumstances where their implementation requires nearimpossible combinations of materials (both wet and dry) with brilliant plastering/joinery craftsmanship. Astragal is planning a seminar on this subject, working title: 'All you ever wanted to know about shadow gaps.' Anyone else interested?
