Seeking help with youth project research

Here at MADE - the architecture centre for the West Midlands - we are carrying out a short piece of research into youth shelters. Do any readers know of any projects that have specifically addressed the issue of creating small outdoor spaces or 'umbrella' structures in the public realm for young people?

We are interested in knowing what experiences architects and designers have had in terms of: consultation processes, planning, police liaison, building, use, and sustainability.

Any feedback to: Philip Singleton, director, MADE, Birmingham and Midland Institute, Margaret Street, Birmingham B3 3SP, tel 0121 236 0200, fax 0121 233 4946, email philip@made. uk. net
