focus briefing

French chemical giant the Cabot Corporation is launching a 'revolutionary' aerogel which, it claims, delivers thermal insulation and uniform daylighting properties two to four times better than any other products currently available. Nanogel Translucent aerogel is a lightweight, non-porous and moistureresistant material that can be delivered in granule sizes up to 4mm, depending on project application requirements. Comprising 97 per cent air, Nanogel can be poured into translucent glazing panels, roofing, and facade elements to improve light diffusion and acoustic insulation in school, leisure and working environments.
