LAFARGE

The new Ster Century Cinema at Festival Palace, Basingstoke, has a dramatic entrance foyer created, in part, by modern drywall materials from Lafarge Plasterboard. Barrelled drop bulkheads, which form a canopy over retails areas, are made using a suspended metal firring system in conjunction with twin layers of Lafarge 6mm Contour board. Other curves within the ceiling are formed from pre-wetted Firecheck board, which has high levels of fire performance and curve strength derived from glassfibre within the core. Additional impact resistance is offered through Lafarge Toughcheck boards. The complex includes Lafarge's acoustic partitions within the auditoria.
