Secure and sustainable? Not this government?

I was intrigued to read about the Secure and Sustainable Buildings Act, which seemingly becomes law this autumn (ie now! ).

It would appear that we have a new law giving new powers to local government building control officers, that could profoundly affect people's lives and plans to improve their homes.

But the public don't know about it, the building professions don't seem to know much about it and there appears to be no guidance as to what it says or how to comply. Another greatly thought through piece of work by the government - not!
