Rogers on shortlist for Edinburgh leisure centre

The developer of a £50 million, 12-screen multiplex and leisure development proposed for Edinburgh city centre has picked a high-profile shortlist of architects for the job.

Bondway Properties, which hopes to build Greenside Place with an anchor tenant of Warner Village Cinemas, has slimmed an original list of eight practices to four: Richard Rogers Partnership, Alan Murray Architects, Page & Park Associates and Weinstraub de Stefano and Partners.

Project manager Ali Lamb said he hoped a fresh scheme would ensure 'that the amenity of Calton Hill will continue to be enjoyed by the people of Edinburgh and assist in its economic regeneration'.
