RMJM has just completed this new research institute for the University of East Anglia (UEA).

The building, for the Zuckerman Institute for Connective Environmental Research (ZICER), aims to set a new benchmark for green construction.

ZICER will bring together the five existing research centres at UEA's school of environmental sciences, in a new research venture into the environmental challenges ahead. Facilities include a state-ofthe-art virtual reality theatre.

Researchers at UEA have recently launched CRED - a campaign to bring East Anglia in line with the government's 2050 targets for carbon emissions reductions by 2025.

An exemplary housing scheme near Norwich will be one of its first projects.
