Urban Swamp by Stephen Butt

An alternative route along the river through an ‘Urban Swamp’ providing the possibility of exploration and the opportunity to wander in a space of inspiration and bemused discovery.

Urban Tapestries by Type 3 studio

Working in collaboration with local artists this proposal aims to create vertical communal gardens, which will provide ecological and environmental enhancements, and create an allegorical landmark by utilising forgotten spaces to illustrate the spirit of London street life.

Velo-City, Central London’s first velodrome by ROKS Architecture (Randy Obaze and Kenny Sykes)

A free indoor mini velodrome for track cyclists, with a public garden above on the existing bomb site. A change in levels and a deep basement allows for an underground facility.

Verticle Park Ramillies Street by Brady Shipman Martin and Locum Consulting

The development of a refuge off Oxford Street; a space in which members of the public can pause. A vertical park, which is a complete contrast from the typology of the surrounding streets.

The temporary re-housing of Croydon’s independent Warehouse Theatre in the derelict Blue Orchid nightclub. The proposal addresses the Warehouse’s need for a temporary theatre until it moves to its new premises in Croydon’s Ruskin Square development.

An outdoor theatre space suspended from the famous Wharncliffe Viaduct, linking to a redesigned Hanwell Station and Square.

The refurbishment of Woolwich Dockyard Angling Club’s clubhouse building seeks to mend and repair, employing methods of timber construction and maintenance intrinsic to the maritime traditions of the former dockyard.
