Forgotten Spaces is an ideas competition run by RIBA London in collaboration with Design for London. Its brief was to propose innovative ways of taking advantage of under utilized sites within the city.

London is running out of burial space - mæ’s proposal to reintroduce the cemetery as a civic space in a local neighbourhood context will offer local amenity space as well as spaces for remembrance and contemplation.

Fabric Park by Nik Hilton
A fabric garden consisting of elements caught in the wind and frozen in movement across the landscaped site. The elements will be formed from a new material called Concrete Cloth which is currently used for emergency shelters in developing countries.

Cork and fabric modular floating flower vessels attached to river anchor buoys with drifting water plants that oxygenate/ purify the river in a natural dynamic system.

This project speculates architecturally on how to stimulate the urban realm through new local and London-wide opportunities. Forgotten Fulham is the first in a line of proposals which aims to reinvigorate the area, re-establishing the Thames connection.

Temporary pavillions link two sites on opposite sides of the river Thames, in the Lewisham and Hackney boroughs.

Four Elements of Sands End by Steven Lenczner, Giuditta Veneri and Carmela Mastrangelo
The creation of a riverside sensory walk through four pavilions representing Earth, Air, Water and Fire.

From Dark to Light by Nottingham University / Year 2 / Unit 3 (Madhur Bumb, Aaron Carter-Whittley, George Mathew, Qi Tang)
This project proposes an art trail for the display of work by local artists, weaving through the railway arches of the new East London Line extension, and ending in an underground gallery on the perimeter of a car park on Leonard Street.
