Forgotten Spaces is an ideas competition run by RIBA London in collaboration with Design for London. Its brief was to propose innovative ways of taking advantage of under utilized sites within the city.

This proposal questions existing residential cycle storage provision, while at the same time, taking advantage of a roadside location and proximity to the London Cycle Network.

Creation of a temporary café/ bar and sculpture garden on top of the disused Limehouse Railway Bridge and viaduct. Reinventing the bridge as a new relaxation and entertainment space, with a unique setting commanding elevated views over the Limehouse Basin.

Celebration Park by Eldina Begic
This proposal turns an under-used park in Tower Hamlets into a social hub by introducing a 38m-long sinuous table. Inspired by land art, the table resembles a meandering path through the park, winding around trees in such a way that it blends into the land.

Centre for Citizen Adhocracy: Monument to Goldfinger (CCA:MG) by Mobile Studio
Through the (illegal) demolition of Goldfinger’s Grade II listed caretaker’s lodge, CCA:MG is a model for a new way to occupy unused local authority 1950-70’s building stock.
