RIBA comps continue to succeed, bar the gripes

letters

In the light of some whinges from a couple of malcontents (AJ 3.2.05), I would like to say what an impressive range of entries we had for the 'Ribar' competition. There was no sign of appropriate applicants having been put off by what were perfectly normal competition criteria, and the quality of the shortlist should speak for itself.

In my experience, the RIBA Competitions Office does a brilliant job on projects small and large. The recent competitions for the British Antarctic Survey headquarters and Tate St Ives bear witness to their success.
