Review for a view

astragal

Two splendid pieces of evidence were given at the inquiry by Robin Nicholson and former EH officer Tim Catchpole, each urging the inclusion of the historic view from Richmond to St Paul's in the mayor's bag of protected views now under review. This, and the view from Westminster Pier, have for some reason been omitted from the list of views which should automatically continue.

Some see this as a sinister plot by the property industry to dump the views and thereby open the way for massive developments in the newly abolished view corridors (Legal & General is to the fore on this). The brilliance of the Richmond view, which has existed since the cathedral was built, cannot be denied. It has doughty defenders, and Astragal is happy to join their camp.
