Elderly residents in 10 new housing association flats on the Orkney Islands can expect a surplus on their £200 winter fuel allowance thanks to an innovative heating solution, which the installers claim can deliver yearround heating and hot water for less than 50p per day. The new 50m² single-occupancy flats built by Orkney Housing Association feature a highly efficient heating system using a combination of REHAU underfloor heating and ground-source heat pumps from ICE Energy Scotland.
