BLANC DE BIERGES AJ ENQUIRY NO: 201

A new visitor complex for the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham, in Norfolk, features hand-crafted landscape materials by Blanc de Bierges. Natural creamy-buff setts were used to form the curve of the cloister leading to the refectory. The company made special radial steps leading down to the lowerlevel cafe terrace, for which it also provided paving slabs. Architect Cowper Griffith Associates chose Blanc de Bierges'materials as a soft visual contrast to the building's red brickwork.

RIGIDAL AJ ENQUIRY NO: 203

New members of Fitness First's latest health and fitness club at the Pompey Centre in Portsmouth will be working out under a Rigidal Ziplok standingseam roof construction.

Created using aluminium Ziplok 400 with a light grey ARS finish, the sheets were roll-formed and curved on site prior to installation by Keith Lodge Industrial Roofing for main contractor Alfred McAlpine Special Projects.

A review of the first year of operation for Melbourne Park Indoor Athletics Centre in Chelmsford, Essex, has confirmed the effectiveness of S&P Coil Products' fan convectors in providing fast heat generation.

Five Belgravia Elite Duo 7.5kW twin-fan units were installed at the centre - three in the reception area and two in a meeting room. Consultant Johns, Slater and Haward was responsible for specifying the heating system, which was installed by building services company Bower Fuller.
