Architect Brian Wright eschewed a modern steel-clad structure for Lincoln's new Charlton Centre in favour of traditional materials in keeping with the town's historic importance. The steep roofs and gables are achieved with Sandtoft's 20/20 interlocking clay tiles in natural red and russet, creating a striking panorama at a modest cost.
