Practice praise

A big turnout for the Grimshaw practice's 25th birthday party enjoyed copious champagne and canapés in the firm's Conway Street offices.

In his welcome speech, Nick Grimshaw said he had calculated that 64 million people a year use buildings created by the practice.

Meanwhile, the firm's overseas activities continue to grow, with its eighth project in Germany nearing completion - a headquarters building in Berlin for KPMG. Fellow director Chris Nash made a nice speech for those who could hear - the battery in the microphone had conked out at the end of a preceding speech by my old friend Paul Finch.
