Labour peer Lord Rogers has stepped up opposition to a war against Iraq, taking out a full-page advert in the Guardian critical of Tony Blair's stance.Rogers has been approaching the great and the good to sign up to the protest which will ask 'why Iraq, why now'.

The move follows a protest letter, published in the Independent, from luminaries such as Frank Gehry, Zaha Hadid and Sir Richard MacCormac as well as Lord Rogers and its author Charles Jencks (AJ 23.1.03). Rogers will also be taking part in the anti-war march planned for this weekend.
