PAIN IN THE NECK

ASTRAGAL

Astragal has always poohpoohed those who claim that architecture is an elitist profession, populated by white middle-class males. He was somewhat perturbed, therefore, to discover that one of dopesmoking David Cameron's drinking cronies in Oxford University's fabled 'Bullingdon Club' has become an architect.

Ralph Perry-Robinson, who counts Richard Rogers among his former employers, was a key member of the posse, whose champagne-quaf-ng, restaurant-trashing antics have been titillating the tabloids for the past week or so. PerryRobinson's party trick, according to the Telegraph, was to open a bottle of champers by slashing its neck with a sword.

A skill which must surely come in handy at MIPIM. Pip pip.
