On the list

The Architecture Club had what is now its annual New Year party at the Reform Club on Tuesday (25 January), where the redoubtable Peter Murray greeted guests old and young. I chatted to Julyan Wickham, who has been organising the club's March event, which will be a debate about the idea of 'X-listing' buildings, proposed by RIBA president George Ferguson. I gather Deyan Sudjic may speak against the idea, following his recent attack on it in the Observer, while Paul Finch is due to second the Ferguson case. What a pity these debates are not for reporting - except when they are, as happened with the recent debate on the future of CABE.
