Nominations sought for RIBA visiting boards

The RIBA invites chartered members with a substantial track record of achievement in architectural practice, education or research to put themselves forward to serve on RIBA visiting boards in the UK and overseas.

We are looking for senior members of the profession who can demonstrate personal integrity and professional credibility, are able to command the respect of the profession and academia, and are sympathetic to the importance of architectural education in advancing architecture and to the critical role of our schools in educating tomorrow's architects. This is a voluntary role, requiring about seven working days' commitment a year.

The RIBA will provide full support and briefing and an opportunity to contribute towards the enhancement of standards and development of architectural education.

The RIBA particularly welcomes nominations from senior female architects, architects from minority ethnic groups and architects from large practices who are under-represented on the current Validation Panel.

Full details are published at www. riba. org. Nominations must be received by 18 August, 2003.

For more information please contact Dr Chris Ellis, RIBA Head of Validation, on 020 7307 3716. Alternatively email chris. ellis@inst. riba. org.

Jack Pringle, vice-president education, RIBA
